THE LIST OF TOP 10 DOGS IN THE WORLD HAD BEEN RELEASED BY AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB 2018. MANY OF THE DOGS RETAIN THEIR NAMES FROM THE PREVIOUS LISTS AND SOME GET REPLACED BY NEWCOMERS. BELOW ARE THE TOP 10 DOGS:

 

10. German Shorthaired Pointer

German Shorthaired Pointer is a German medium to large size breed developed in the 19th century for hunting. This is the first occurrence when that breed of dog has made the Top 10. Nowadays German Shorthaired Pointers are also trained as bomb-sniffing dogs. They are highly energetic, loyal, and good at almost everything - except being a couch potato.

9. Yorkshire Terrier

The Yorkshire Terrier is the smallest breed dog it is developed in Yorkshire, England . These cute little, intelligent, and courageous dogs are favorites of those who love lap dogs for companions. Ideally these are around 7 pounds and Yorkshire Terrier is the smallest dog in this list of Top 10.

8. Rottweiler

The Rottweiler is a medium to large breed of dogs, its origin is Germany. Initially these muscular dogs used to herd livestock and pull carts loaded with butchered meat. They are great military, police, security dogs and also excellent home guard dogs. They love the family and protect them. According to experts you should not own Rottweiler, if you do not have previous experience with dogs.

Poodles origin is still disputed whether they are from Germany or french. Poodle is one of the smartest breeds of dog. They come in three sizes: Standard Poodle, Miniature Poodle, and Toy Poodle. They are very active dogs and love to swim, run, and walk.

The Beagle is a small breed of dogs originated in the UK. This breed is a scent hound and developed for hunting. Nowadays common at airports for luggage-sniffing. They have secured the Top 10 list of dogs every tenure since the list came out. It's a good option for family and already favorites of many families. Their bard sounds unique.

5. Bulldog

The bulldog originated in the UK. It is a muscular breed, normally sized between small to medium. It’s face is wrinkled and a distinctive push on the nose. They are calm and friendly dogs. It was initially bred in the 13th century for dog fights in the UK. But after a ban on such fights in the 19th century breeds worked a lot on this breed and they were successful, with this dog now being a popular family dog.

4. French Bulldog

The French Bulldog is a small size cross breed of Toy Bulldog England and Ratters of Paris in the 18th century. They are very calm and friendly. These dogs are best pets and bred for the sole purpose of companionship. Their popularity increased rapidly in the last 20 years.

3. Golden Retriever

The Golden Retriever originates in the UK. This breed of dogs is friendly, intelligent, calm and tempered dogs so definitely it's a good family dog. They are commonly used for therapy or service dogs And its qualities made them qualified for the Top 10 world dogs list once again.

2. German Shepherd Dog

The German Shepherd Dog is a medium sized breed originated in German. It is a working dog developed originally for herding sheep.  German Shepherd Dog is another breed that consistently registers their name in the Top 10 dogs list. They are similar to wolves and very intelligent and quick learning breeds. They are used in police and military units and also good for family dogs.

1. Labrador Retriever

Labrador Retriever is a medium-large size breed of retriever-gun dog. It is commonly known as Lab or Labrador. Labrador is the most popular all over the world and once again they secured their first Rank in Top 10 Dogs of the world. They have three coat colors: black, chocolate, and yellow. They are great companions and like to play and swim. This is a pure family dog.
